The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov went on a working visit to the United Arab Emirates.
At the International Airport of the capital, the Hero-Arkadag was seen off by officials and a representative of the UAE Embassy to Turkmenistan.
During the conversation with the diplomat, the mutual interest of the two friendly countries in the further comprehensive deepening of the productive interstate dialogue, established in recent years and based on the unbreakable traditions of friendship, trust and mutual understanding, was emphasised.
The common desire to bring long-standing cooperation to a qualitatively new level, fully consistent with the priorities of socioeconomic development and the national interests of each country, is evidenced by regular bilateral meetings.
Thus, a significant milestone in the history of the interstate relations, being successfully established in different formats, primarily on the platform of authoritative regional and international organisations, was the official visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan to the UAE in February last year, during which some important agreements were achieved.
After wishing the Hero-Arkadag every success in holding the meetings planned during the visit, the UAE Plenipotentiary Representative in Turkmenistan expressed confidence that the visit would give a new powerful impetus to the development of the Turkmen-Emirati cooperation and would serve to strengthen the traditional ties of friendship and brotherhood between the peoples of the two countries.
Then the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov boarded the plane, which headed for Abu Dhabi.
At the airport, the National Leader of the Turkmen people was warmly welcomed by UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Al Mazrouei and other officials.
During the brief conversation that took place there, the special importance attached by our country to the comprehensive expansion of the mutually beneficial cooperation with the United Arab Emirates as one of the most dynamically developing states on the planet was highlighted.
Noting that regular negotiations at various levels greatly contribute to the established constructive dialogue, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan expressed confidence in the success of all meetings planned during the current visit and intended to give new content to the traditional partnership.
Then the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the representative of the President of the UAE for affairs with Turkmenistan Mohamed Saeed Mohamed Al Ariqi.
Expressing sincere gratitude to Arkadag for his time, Mohamed Saeed Mohamed Al Ariqi stressed the sincere interest of the Emirati party in establishing close and mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmenistan, deservedly enjoying high prestige in the world.
As it was noted, the large-scale transformations being carried out in the country, primarily to reform and diversify the national economy, had ensured consistently high rates of Turkmenistan’s socioeconomic growth.
“Our country is always open to constructive interaction with all interested partners – both with foreign countries and individual companies with positive experience and innovative developments,” the Hero-Arkadag emphasised.
Noting that the established reliable and strong legislative framework and favourable investment climate created all the conditions for the successful operation of foreign businesses in the promising Turkmen market, the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that during his visit to the UAE, there would be a good opportunity to discuss prospects of cooperation in a whole range of areas.
Trade, economic, banking, financial, fuel and energy sectors were named among the priority vectors of the Turkmen-Emirati cooperation.
Having colossal resources of natural gas, Turkmenistan is known to be actively working to develop giant deposits of “blue fuel” and to diversify export routes for the supply of its energy resources to international markets.
At the same time, Turkmenistan pays great attention to the development of “green” energy, taking consistent steps aimed at promoting projects for the widespread use of renewable energy sources.
Another promising vector of cooperation seems to be the transport and communications sector, the development of which Turkmenistan is building taking into account its national interests and advantageous geographical position.

Our country, located along the legendary Great Silk Road, is consistently expanding routes not only of land modes of transport, but also of air transport. Thus, flights have been established along the Ashgabat–Dubai–Ashgabat route. And starting tomorrow, flights to Abu Dhabi will resume, which indicates that the interstate relations are being taken to a new level.
